Surprises Aplenty As FFA Cup Nears
May 2, 2014

Only two of Brisbane's NPL Queensland clubs remain in the hunt for an FFA Cup berth after four were dumped out in Round 5 of the Canale Travel Cup, which doubles as the capital's qualifying zone for the Football Queensland Cup.
Ipswich Knights, Wolves FC, Logan Lightning and Lions FC all managed impressive upsets during the week to join Brisbane Strikers, Rochedale Rovers and Olympic FC within two matches of the nationwide Round of 32.
As Brisbane Premier League teams strive in the state's south, the two remaining spots around Queensland are down to just eight contenders.
One of Northern Fury and FNQ FC Heat will meet either Magpies or Clinton to decide one place in the FFA Cup, while the other will be contested between two of Caloundra, Gympie Diggers, SWQ Thunder and Palm Beach.
