Pursuit of the Cup
WHERE THE SMALLEST TEAMS
CAN STEP ONTO THE BIGGEST PITCHES
Round 2 of Brisbane's Canale Travel Cup kicks off this week, with 28 clubs involved.
The winning teams from Round 1 (Capital 2, Capital 3 and Capital 4 League clubs) will be joined by the majority of the Capital 1 League clubs in this Round.
Last year's Semi Finalists, Taringa Rovers (Capital 1), start their campaign to reach the FFA Cup at their home ground, Jack Speare Park, against Slacks Creek (Capital 2) on Tuesday night. Round 2 has also thrown up a number of early Capital 1 match-ups, with interesting games between Annerley & Mt Gravatt, Moggill & Grange Thistle, North Pine & Southside Eagles, and Souths United & Pine Hills.
In 2014 the Canale Travel Cup doubles as the Brisbane component of the FQ Cup. The two finalists will win the right to represent Queensland in the FFA Cup round of 32 later in the year.
