State-wide knockout football returns to Queensland in 2015, with the Football Queensland Cup being used to determine Queensland's four places to represent the state in the Round of 32 of the inaugural FFA Cup.
The early stages of the Football Queensland Cup sees each zone scheduling and conducting preliminary round matches in their geographical area within nominated playing “windows” dates to determine regional winners. Regional winners have the opportunity to play off against their local National Premier League entities who are seeded and enter the competition at this later stage. The winners of that match will then play inter-region qualifying matches.
Within the Brisbane Zone, the existing Canale Travel Cup competition sees 62 clubs vying in a seeded draw, with Brisbane Premier League Clubs entering in Round 3 and the 6 National Premier Leagues Brisbane based Clubs entering at Round 4, to determine the remaining 2 finalists.
