West Adelaide To Face Adelaide City In Coca-Cola Federation Cup Final
Traditional rivals Adelaide City and West Adelaide will face off for their place in the Westfield FFA Cup at the 2014 Coca-Cola Federation Cup Final on Saturday 31 May at Coopers Stadium.
West Adelaide claimed their place in the Final after defeating Western Strikers in the Semi Final 5-1 tonight in front of a strong crowd of 570 at Adelaide Shores Football Centre.
An own goal saw Western Strikers in front early in the match, however West Adelaide’s Riccardo Da Silva responded late in the first half tying up the score board at 1 a piece.
A Tom Briscoe goal shortly after half time gave the West Adelaide side a lead that extended only a few minutes later when team mate Nathan Andijanto netted another for the side.
Briscoe scored again to extend the lead, with Da Silva making it 5-1 in the final minutes of the match.
West Adelaide will join Adelaide City who secured their position in the Final following their 3-1 victory over Croydon Kings in the first Semi Final held the previous Wednesday.
Adelaide City’s Joel Allwright put two in the net in quick succession just after half time of the Semi Final, followed by team mate Nicholas Bucco adding another 1.
Croydon’s Rocco Visconte responded however it wasn’t enough to get the red and whites over the line.
